Style At Downton
Archive
I've fallen in love with the show Downton Abbey. Especially the clothing from the era in which the series is set. They are simply divine!

"I keep calling him Branson when I should be calling him Tom,” laughs Jessica Brown-Findlay. “I’m married to him and I’m still calling him by his last name!"

As host of next week’s CFDA Fashion Awards, Seth Myerswon’t be the only familiar face behind the podium. Designer favorite Jessica Chastain, who stars in “Lawless” and will headline “The Heiress” with Dan Stevens of “Downton Abbey” this fall on Broadway, will present the women’s wear award at the June 4 event at Alice Tully Hall. “Mad Men” actress Jessica Paré will present the accessories award and “White Collar” actor Matt Bomer has been aptly tapped to hand over the Menswear Designer of the Year award. But the actor who is expected to really hold the room will be this year’s Fashion Icon award winner, Johnny Depp.

This popped up yesterday when I went onto PBS’s website. And of course when I saw it my response was, “yes! I want to donate…,” but then I remembered I’m a poor college student. But anyways, seeing this was a good reminder to thank PBS for showing Downton Abbey and other great works of British television.

So I’ve been thinking… we all know that Mary and Matthew get married in season three. But where do they live after the marriage? I wonder how Mary would feel about continuing to live at Downton. So do you think that the house they were filming at these last few days is the new house for the newly wedded Mr and Mrs Crawley?

me when i first started watching downton:
Wow, this is the classiest show ever and my liking for it is completely rational and intellectual. I bet the fandom get together for tea parties where they discuss the intricacies of the early 20th century British class system, the effects of World War I on the aristocracy, the relationship between the Downton entail and the Pride and Prejudice entail, the historical accuracy of the show...
me now:
THESE COUSINS ARE GETTING MARRIED AND HAVING SEX BEHIND A BUSH. THE CHAUFFEUR STUCK AN IRISH PEEN IN THE EARL'S YOUNGEST DAUGHTER. VIOLET THOMAS AND O'BRIEN ARE SASSY AS FUCK AND NO I DON'T THINK THERE'S ANYTHING ELSE YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT DOWNTON ABBEY.
